Home, sweet, home. I’ve noticed that whenever things get crazy, difficult, stressful, or just *different*, I always find my way back home.
When I joined the military in 2010: I packed all of my things into a storage unit, moved back to Sugar Land with my dog Zoe for a few months and then headed to BMT. (Zoe stayed with my parents during BMT but then took a road trip with me from Houston to Travis AFB, CA!)
When I became a recruiter in 2018: I brought my dog, Toby, home to Sugar Land while I was attending tech school in San Antonio. I would come home for most weekends. After tech school, I found my house up in Spring so that I was close to my office.
Now, here we are in 2021: Things are changing and I’m back in Sugar Land for a little while.
Today, my run was in the same place that I ran everyday in preparation for BMT in 2010. It’s a little more developed now and there are way more people, but it’s nice to be home.
