Hi everyone, I’m back!

After many years of neglect, I have decided to come back to my little home on the internet. My blog goes back to 2006, really? 20 years ago? WTF. Originally started at mistermatt.net (still works, just pushes you here), then went to sgtgarza.com (no longer working) until I decided that didn’t really define me, and landed eventually on bikematthew.com – hey, it matches my instagram!
Well, there are certainly not 20 consistent years of posts here, however I did do something right. If you check out the Tour Blogs, you’ll find some really neat stuff. I guess I am sort of a adventure blogger, in the fact that I only really wrote when I had something exciting going on. And tonight, as I have started cleaning up the website and making sure all of the links are working, I am really enjoying reading about my past adventures. Strava says that I rode a total of 14,510.5 lifetime miles and I’ve written about a LOT of those. I started seriously riding back in 2014 when my friend Christy introduced me to the world of Bike MS. I rode my hybrid and mountain bikes when I lived in WI from 2003 until 2010, but nothing serious. I mean, I am still not serious, but I like to say that I ride a LOT.

Now, I am an indoor cycle coach for Lifetime Fitness in Brooklyn, NY and I am preparing for an exciting year of rides, runs and swims.
I hope you’ll join me as I re-ignite this blog and add stories, recipes and all sorts of fun stuff.
And, of course, Toby says hello from his new front yard: Prospect Park
